NAIROBI – THE United Kingdom has urged non-governmental organisations in Ethiopia and Kenya to apply for funding to promote the rights of the vulnerable members of the community in their respective countries.

The Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) provides such assistance under the auspices of the Overseas Refugee Assistance Programmess for Africa.

For Kenya, among the vulnerable communities targeted include refugees in Dabaab camps, gay and lesbian individuals and organisations, minors and Somali refugees among others.

Project proposals must not be for more than $1,25 million or they will be disqualified.

Proposal submission deadline is April 20.

“Proposals submitted after this deadline will not be considered,” funders said.
