SA business urged to invest in Ghana free zones

Hajia-Hanatu-AbubakarJOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THE Investor Support Service Manager at the Ghana Free Zones Board, Haija Abubakar, has urged South Africanbusinesspeople to invest in the Ghana Free Zones programme.

Abubakar said the whole country was accessible to potential investors whohad the opportunity to use the Free Zones as focal points to produce goodsand services for foreign markets.

Abubakar said Ghana Free Zones programmes was looking at four areas ofoperation in enclave development, manufacturing, services and commercial warehousing and priority sectors are agro-processing, minerals processing,information communication technology, floriculture, textile/apparelmanufacturing, jewellery production, pharmaceuticals and oil and gas.Information obtained from the South African Department of Trade andIndustry suggests Abubakar told businesspeople the Free Zones programme isdesigned to promote processing, manufacturing of goods through theestablishment of Export Processing Zones (EPZs), and encourage thedevelopment of commercial and service activities at sea and airport areas.Abubakar also said the West African country was accessible to potentialinvestors and encouraged potential investors to make use to the incentivesprovided for such investments.
