MTN boss Nhleko quits Anglo American

downloadJOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – ANGLO American has announced the resignation of Phuthuma Nhleko from his role as a non-executive director of the board.

He is stepping down with immediate effect.According to Anglo American mining firm, Nhleko has quit his position toconcentrate on his business interests in South Africa.

“Phuthuma has been a valued member of the Board since 2011 and we have benefited greatly from his broad international business experience and insights and, in particular, from his knowledge of southern Africa.

We will miss his contribution, but I fully understand his reasons for stepping down and wish him well for the future,” Sir John Parker, Chairmanof Anglo American, said.

Nhleko was recently appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer of the MTNGroup.This followed the resignation of Sifiso Dabengwa.
