Executives confirmed for Africa Mining indaba

African Mining Indaba 2CAPE TOWN, (CAJ News) – ORGANISERS of the 2016 Investing in African Mining Indaba have disclosed an array of global and regional industry leaders and experts for the summit.

The speaker line-up for the event set for Cape Town, South Africa in February is set to reflect investment opportunities currently available as well as those beyond the current mining cycle.

Organisers added the four-day conference programme would provide extensive insight on how investors, governments, and corporates can come together to take a close look at how they can improve operational efficiencies,
evaluate how to best mitigate risks associated with investing in the sector, and to identify the critical partnerships for ensuring the development and future sustainability of mining.

“Setting the benchmark as the world-class mining investment event and presiding as the convener of global and influential deal-makers to provide the platform that channels billions of dollars in capitalising the African
mining value chain remains our core focus and we intend to deliver on this promise for the 2016 annual conference,” said Jonathan Moore, Managing Director of the Mining Indaba.

Among confirmed speakers are former Zimbabwe Finance Minister, Tendai Biti, Makhtar Diop, the Vice President, Africa, World Bank Group and Hakainde Hichilema, a businessman and Zambian opposition party leader.

From the industry, Mark Cutifani, Chief Executive Officer of Anglo American, Alan Davies and Chief Executive at Rio Tinto, Srinivasan Venkatakrishnan, Chief Executive Officer of AngloGold, will attend.

They will be joined by Robert Friedland, Executive Chairman and Founder of Ivanhoe Mines, Anthony Milewski, Vice President of Investment Team and Pala Investments and Rory Kutisker-Jacobson, Analyst at Allan Gray.

The Investing in African Mining Indaba will be held on February 8-11.
