The African Press Association launches its “Big Breakfast Interview on Public Transport Transformation”

APApublic-transport-transformationJOHANNESBURG; Oct 06, 2016 THE African Press Association (APA), the premier pan-African news agency, will on October 26 host the Big breakfast Interview on Public Transport Transformation, the first in a series of monthly breakfast meeting events that are housed under the series of the “The Big Breakfast Interview.”

Held in line with the October Transport Month (OTM) has been launched by Department of Transport Minister, Dipuo Peters, the BIG Breakfast Interview on Public Transport Transformation will be held at the prestigious Protea Hotel Fire and Ice, in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg.

The APA Big Breakfast Interview on Public Transport Transformation will be held from 07h30 to 12h00.

The goal of the event is to provide and facilitate a platform that bridges the communication gap between passenger transport service providers, relevant stakeholders, and commuters. Such communication is essential in the modification of the transport industry.

The interview will be attributed to issues pertaining to policy, skills development, venture creation and support, innovation, safety, infrastructure and other transformation issues within these sectors.
The focus will be on all passenger transport sectors including rail, maritime, aviation, taxi and bus transport.

A much needed dialogue will be initiated to activate the much-anticipated need for change and drive the various sectors towards ensuring our public transport industry in its entirety becomes competitive and is transformed to world standards.

Officials from the National Department of Transport, municipalities including Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni, Transport Education and Training Authority, South African National Taxi Council, South African Bus Operators Association and other stakeholders in the sector will be participating at the event. – Ends
