Global partnerships to make Abuja smart city

AbujaABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
pledged to connect the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to international development partners to enhance its growth.
UNDP Resident Representative, Edward Kallon, assured FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, during a meeting in Abuja. Abuja is the capital of the FCT and the country.
Kallon said his organisation would also work to promote information and communications technology development in the FCT to assist in making Abuja a smart city for youth development.
The meeting between the two officials came after Bello made an unscheduled visit to the UN House in Abuja.
He urged contractors to hasten the complete rehabilitation of the facility to ensure a quick handover to the intergovernmental organisation.
Militants bombed the building in 2011.
At least 21 people were killed and 73 injured.
