Africa executives vie for top CEO accolade

GLOBAL CEOsLAGOS, (CAJ News) – OUTSTANDING African business leaders and companies will next week be honoured in Switzerland at the most high-profile international forum on African private sector development.
The event will be held under the aegis of the Africa CEO Forum 2017 in the capital Geneva.
The highlight of the two-day event starting Monday will be the CEO Forum Awards, contested for by the continent’s inspirational business executives.
Contenders are Abdulsamad Rabiu (BUA Group), Issad Rebrab (Cevital), Mohammed Dewji (MeTL), Naguib Sawiris (OTMT Investments), Said Salim Awadh Bakhresa (Bakhresa Group) and Strive Masiyiwa of Econet.
Another highlight will be the African Company of the Year Award, contested for by CIEL Group, Econet, Elswedy Electirc, Label’Vie, MTN and OCP Group.
These are among several awards to be handed out in Geneva.
Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank, will officiate at the event.
Launched in 2012, the Africa CEO Forum has become the leading international meeting on the development of Africa and its companies, in a top-level professional setting.
The 2016 edition hosted over 1 000 African and international personalities, including 600 business leaders from 43 African countries and 100 high-level speakers.
