ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has warned Pinnacle Trading and Investment against auctioning vessels or petroleum products the Nigerian Navy confiscated in the Delta in 2015.
Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, reiterated the agency had not authorised anyone to act on its behalf in that regard.
He thus disassociated EFCC from the activities of Pinnacle.
“The sources of the fraudulent letter of engagement being paraded by Messrs. Pinnacle Trading & Investment Nig. Ltd. are currently being investigated, with a view to bringing them to book,” Uwujaren said.
The vessels, MT Good Success and MT Asteris, contain over 4 882 metric tonnes of refined and crude oil. Culprits aboard the ships were convicted.
Uwujaren said anyone found to be parading himself as an auctioneer or agent with regard to the vessels and their contents would be arrested.
