JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – NEW subscribers to the Pan-African broadcaster, Kwesé, can now access the satellite television service’s
content without paying for a subscription.
This follows the launch of an additional bouquet to be known as Kwesé Free.
The ‘always on’ bouquet will feature at least five channels that are usually only available to pay subscription customers.
They will include Kwese Free Sports Channel which offers live sports games from the English Premier League and the National Basketball Association.
There will also be general entertainment, news and some religious channels, all for free.
National Free To Air Channels will also be available as part of the free access.
Customers who use the Kwese Free boutique will also have the option to watch an additional 70 channels by buying a 3, 7, or 30-day window.
“We believe that once you purchase a decoder it belongs to you. Instead of switching you off completely if you haven’t paid for a, we are offering viewers the free bouquet,” said Econet Media Group Chief Executive Officer and Presiden, Joseph Hundah.
“We see the concept as a simple one, why should owning a decoder be any different from owning a mobile phone? Once you purchase it, it belongs to you and it should be something you can use whether or not you choose to pay for our service.”
Created for Sub-Saharan African audiences, Kwesé is inspired by the ‘TV everywhere’ revolution.
