Bad weather halts SAA flights to New York
JOHANNESBURG – SOUTH African Airways has cancelled flights to New York, United States because of adverse weather conditions.
Flights scheduled for the John F. Kennedy International Airport on Thursday were halted.
“We have decided to cancels flights between the two destinations after we received notification that the effects of the East Coast Winter Storm in the United States will make it unsafe to operate flights as conditions are outside our operating limits,” says SAA spokesperson, Tlali Tlali.
However, services to and from Washington are currently unaffected.
Travel on the affected route is expected to commence on or before January 12.
The East Coast Winter Storm has brought one of the coldest holiday seasons on record.
